AGM/ILF 2008 PDF Print E-mail

"Same Kinship, Different Languages" is the theme for the 2008 Fatsil National Indigenous Languages Forum, to be held in Surfers Paradise, QLD, from the 29th to the 30th of October 2008.

This year the Federation of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Languages (FATSIL) AGM and Indigenous Languages Forum will be held at the Watermark Hotel, Gold Coast, QLD on the 29th and 30th October 2008.

The newsflashes cover quick and general information that's relative to the FATSIL aims and objectives.  The newsflashes are not generic business information but a blog of latest and changing 'quick' articles.

Magazine - Voice of the Land (VOTL)
The official FATSIL magazine 'Voice of the Land' is released quarterly.  An excellent magazine with articles and images of what's happening around the country, the initiatives, reports on events and other interesting developments.  You can subscribe to the magazine by contacting FATSIL.

Language of the Month
LOTM is a brief but in depth look at a chosen 'Language of the Month'.  It deals with the areas and the people to whom it relates and the status of the language.

Research
Occasionally new research is published by prominent agencies and associates of FATSIL to which adds value to the wider community of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Languages.  Their research is paramount to understanding what is really happening to the cultures and languages, and gives an insight into the topics in a day where time is marching forward.

Events
Latest events are posted here.  Details of the events, the spirit and culture they may be articulating.  Community events are important to the FATSIL way of life.  Regular events and workshops are run around the country to promote indigenous diversity for languages via education in a pleasant and enjoyable nature.  Information sessions and topical community meetings also feature.
